PicoLib requires a model release for any image that has a person in it with a recognizable face and or distinctive features (like a custom tattoo) that is unique to the person and can be used to identify that person(s)

All the PicoLib sites run on an honours system for the submission of model releases. That means that if there is a query about a model or the legal usability of an image, you are required to provide a legal model release within 48hours. Should you not be able to provide a legal release, we will be forced to close your account, and all accrued royalties will be forfeit (you may also face legal action from the side of the model)

You do not need to use our model release, as long as your release states the following:

1. Your complete details as photographer, including country, phone number and valid e-mail address and living or postal address
2. The complete details of the model (including contact number, working e-mail address, living and or postal address, and country)
3. The complete details of a witness (including contact number, working e-mail address, living and or postal address, and country)

The details of the release must also contain the following points:

1. The images can be manipulated in any way without the consent of the model for final use
2. The compensation agreed upon
3. Waiver of any future rights from the model to any third party the photographer assigns usage rights to
4. Statement of legal age (or details and signatures of guardian(s)

The witness may not be the photographer and must be a third party

It is very important that you discuss the model release with your model and that they give a clear verbal indication (along with signing the document) in front of the witness that they understand the terms of the release and potential future usage of the images.
