Megaybytes and Megapixels… Which size is best (and right) for you depends on a clear understanding of what a specific file size can be used for.
We measure image sizes in pixels, and depending on how you stack those pixels, will ultimately decide how large you can print the image. Megapixels (Mp) are simply the total pixels available in an image (measured in Millions of Pixels).
This should not be confused with Megabytes (Mb) – Megabytes refer to the actual file size if saved on a disk and has no correlation to the actual printable size of an image.
The following guidelines should help you in deciding which image size to buy.
(Keep in mind that larger files might take slightly longer to download, but you should try and get the images that match your client’s size requirements the best)

Legend:
600dpi: Typically used for high quality glossy prints like varnished pamphlets and brochures, cards and hardcover books. 300dpi: Standard printing for books, magazines and brochures 150dpi: Mainly used for enlarged prints like newspapers and posters
(NOTE: except for our web-size images, we have a minimum short side limit of 2,000 pixels. Also keep in mind that these sizes are approximate, as the actual cropping of the image and the sizes produced by different cameras differ)
